Our Examination Results

“The quality of students’ achievements is excellent.” (BSO Inspection Report 2013)

SES achieves outstanding examination results, ones that compare with the best UK curriculum schools anywhere. For a school that is not rigorously academic selective, our results are impressive.

Our students are challenged by typically being entered for 9 or 10 GCSE examination (the requirement is 5).

Results at GCSE stage are consistently 25% to 30% above average UK achievement. In the UK a typical measurement of success at GCSE is indicating how many students have achieved 5 subjects at grade A* to C (which must include English and Maths). The UK average here is usually 68% or 69%; at SES we have attained 93%, 92% and 93% in 2013, 2014 and 2015 respectively on this measure. Another good indicator of performance at GCSE is recording the percentages of students achieving the top grades of A or A*. In UK schools this usually comes in at about 23% of students. At SES the figures have been 46%, 45% and 46% in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Since our first A Level entries in 2010, SES students have clocked up an A Level pass rate of 99.7% across all subjects.
