The School Day
School Gates
The Primary School Gates open at 7:30am each morning.
The Secondary gates are opened at 7:15am each morning. Secondary students who arrive early may enter the Secondary School block, and may congregate in the open areas or work in the ICT room. They are not permitted to enter classrooms until the beginning of registration at 7:50am.
Primary children who use the Secondary gates from 7:15am to 7:30am must remain in the Secondary Reception until 7:30am, even if accompanied by parents or older siblings. Here they will be supervised until such time as there are Primary staff on duty in the playground and they may safely go there.
Car Parks
Parents and drivers are asked to scrupulously observe traffic regulations and safe procedures when dropping off children. Though there will inevitably be some delays at peak times, our main concern is safety and the avoidance of accidents. Cars should not stop illegally on the main road or outer slip road to allow students to disembark. Cars should pull properly into the designated parking areas rather than stopping in front of the gates. Parents and drivers should be guided by the school duty staff at all times.
It must be understood that the school cannot accept rudeness to staff who are doing their designated duties. Nor will we tolerate driving procedures which are illegal or which compromise children’s safety
